Born: Fort Wayne, Indiana

Age started learning Trombone: 6th grade

Degrees: Doctor of Music, ABD, Indiana University; Performance Diploma, Indiana University; Masters of Music, Indiana University; Bachelors of Music, Carthage College.

Non music degrees, all health and wellness related, include Biomechanics Specialist, The Ready State, TRS Level 2, The Ready State, TRS Level 1, Precision Nutrition, Level 1, Functional Movement Systems, Level 1, National Academy of Sports Medicine, CES, National Academy of Sports Medicine, CPT

Austin studied and took lessons on Trombone for 7 years PRIOR to attending college

Symphonic experience Austin brings to SWFSO: 
“I regularly sub with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and most recently, the Sarasota Symphony Orchestra.”

Teaching experience Austin has:  “I currently run an online musician health and wellness studio, focusing on helping musicians who are experiencing tension, pain, or chronic injury. I have taught all ages ranging from 18-65.”

Something you may not know about Austin: “Outside of music I am obsessed with health and wellness. I am constantly trying to learn, grow, and improve my understand of how the human body moves and breathes. I am also a competitive person and love playing any type of game. Games make the world go round!”

This will be Austin's first season SWFSO! We look forward to having him on stage with us!
